Get ready for the second annual Mardi Gras event, an experience unique to Brush with the Spirit where we explore the mystery and tradition of Mardi Gras in New Orleans. This event is led by Danah Cox, who was born and raised in NOLA and worked there in French restaurants for over two decades.
This year, we’ll be looking at the significance of costuming for Mardi Gras, from the reasons for dressing up to what goes into coming up with a costume. We’ll also be delving a bit into the history of New Orleans and the history of Carnival, all followed by a Q&A that will cover any questions raised, as well as provide some practical advice if you ever had planned to go to New Orleans.
If that weren’t enough, we’ll also be serving authentic Creole/Cajun food prepared by Danah himself.
For children and the young at heart, we’ll have a mask-making table where you can create your very own Mardi Gras mask.
So again the question is, have you ever...
